
The ALIENA project, of which the CMCC is a project partner, organises the webinar “Evaluation of the Environmental Status of Italian Marine Waters in Relation to Non-Indigenous Species within the Marine Strategy Framework Directive” will be led by Dr. Silvia Livi from the Italian Institute for Environmental Protection and Research (ISPRA), who will deliver an in-depth presentation on marine monitoring under the Marine Strategy Framework Directive (MSFD), with a focus on the national assessment of Descriptor D2.
This webinar offers an opportunity to:

Project ALIENA, aims to create a shared knowledge base and a collaborative monitoring system to protect Adriatic Sea biodiversity from Non-Indigenous Species (NIS).
Through joint monitoring and modelling efforts focused on these species, the project seeks to:
- Develop early warning solutions for effective marine management.
- Contribute to biodiversity conservation and public health protection.
- Improve shared protocols for NIS detection, monitoring and management.
- Increase stakeholder awareness of NIS-related challenges.
